Blackburn defender Andy Todd is ready to quit Ewood Park in order to secure
first-team football.
The 28-year-old has handed in a transfer request to Rovers boss Graeme Souness
which has been accepted.
Todd has been a peripheral figure at Blackburn since his £750,000 move from
Charlton in May 2002.
The combative centre-back, who was dismissed for kicking Birmingham's
Christophe Dugarry last season, has fallen further down the pecking order since
Lorenzo Amoruso joined the club from Rangers.
Souness told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "Andy Todd came to me and
asked for a transfer.
"I don't want to lose him but we've reluctantly accepted
it.
"He feels as though he needs first-team football at this stage in his
career."
Fellow defenders John Curtis and Henning Berg also left the club this week,
with Curtis heading to Leicester and Berg joining Rangers.
