Lorenzo Amoruso has finally completed his 1.4m move from Rangers to Blackburn.

The 32-year-old Italian was paraded at a news conference at Ewood Park on Monday, alongside 2.75m signing from Feyenoord Brett Emerton.

American goalkeeper David Yeldell has been snapped up from Stuttgart, and Blackburn will complete a transfer quartet by finally completing the signing of Slovakian defender Vratislav Gresko on Tuesday.

Amoruso said he was looking forward to the challenge of proving himself in the Premiership after playing in Scotland.

"There are plenty of good players in the Premiership. Even though the quality is good in Scotland, you know that other teams do not have the same firepower as Rangers and Celtic," Amoruso said.

"This is not the case in England, as every game is a big game.

"I am looking forward to starting the season already."

Amoruso helped Rangers wrap up a domestic treble last season but his agent Andrea D'Amico said the time has come for the Italian to test himself in the Premiership.

"He will be sad to leave Glasgow but every professional player knows that a career has a lot of starts," said D'Amico.

"I think it is important for him to to try the Premiership.

"He gave everything to Glasgow Rangers and the fans and is part of the history of the club."

Graeme Souness said he hoped the new signings would help Blackburn make a greater impact on the Premiership next season.

"I want to do better than we did last year, and I think we have given ourselves a very good chance of that with these signings," he said.

Blackburn have also moved to secure the services of defender Lucas Neill who has signed a contract to keep him at the club until 2007.
