Rovers line up Queudrue
Queudrue could solve a defensive problem at Blackburn
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness is desperate to fill the gap on the left-hand side of defence and has turned his attention to Lens full-back Franck Queudrue.
The 22-year-old will spend a few days on trial at the Lancashire club, and a deal could be struck if he impresses. Rovers chief executive John Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "There is a player (Queudrue) over on trial at the moment. "He's a full-back and he's going to be joining the camp for a few days but that's all it is at this stage. "He's come over to try and impress and his club have given us permission to have a look at him, which means they would be prepared to sell." Queudrue has made 22 appearances for Lens since breaking into the first-team last season and is valued at £3m. Souness has had bids for Birmingham's Martin Grainger and Liverpool's Djimi Traore turned down this summer. Former Liverpool player Stig Bjornebye is the only recognised left-sided defender at Blackburn.
