Souness: Set to embark on a spending spree
Premiership newcomers Blackburn have completed the 7m signing of Italian striker Corrado Grabbi.

The 25-year-old, who plays for Serie B side Ternana, has signed a four-year deal at Ewood Park.

Italian sides Fiorentina and Udinese are also believed to have been chasing Grabbi, who was the leading scorer in Serie B last season with 20 goals.

Rovers chief executive John Williams said: "The transfer has been completed and Corrado is a Rovers player now.

I am living a dream and I cannot wait to get started

"He has returned home and will link up with us next month at the start of pre-season training."

The player said: "I like the city, the club are ambitious and the Premier League inspires me. Everything is wonderful.

"I am living a dream and I cannot wait to get started."

Grabbi is expected to be the first of several new signings arriving at Ewood Park this summer.

Manager Graeme Souness has also been linked with Rangers midfielder Tugay and Tranmere midfielder Alan Mahon.

Souness has a reported 20m to spend, which could be boosted by the sale of goalkeeper Alan Kelly, who, according to the club's official website, is considering a move to relegated Coventry.

Rovers would be willing to listen to offers for the veteran keeper who was third choice behind Brad Friedel and John Filan last season.
