Moors take Blues duo for a month

Birmingham City

Young Birmingham City midfielders James McPike and James O'Brien have joined Solihull Moors on a month's loan.

McPike, 20, can make his debut for the Blue Square North side in Wednesday's Birmingham Senior Cup quarter final against Rushall Olympic.

O'Brien is cup-tied after scoring for Blues reserves in their victory over Tipton earlier in the competition.

Both players have been short of opportunities as the Blues second string are not entered into a league.

McPike found himself capturing headlines last summer when then Birmingham winger Olivier Kapo lent him his Mercedes for the close season.

Now he is concentrating on working his way back to full fitness after a year marred by a shoulder injury.

His younger brother Mitch McPike and stepbrother Daniel Preston are also on Blues' books.
