Blues have won every game in which Phillips has scored
Birmingham City forward Kevin Phillips has said his team have the qualities needed for a promotion battle.
Blues have fought back from 2-1 down in each of their last two Championship fixtures to beat Charlton and Swansea.
"That's football for you, that never-say-die attitude is so big in this league," Phillips told BBC WM.
"I don't think you could fault the spirit throughout the season, every team we play wants to beat Birmingham City, so there's added pressure."
Phillips was introduced as a substitute at the Liberty Stadium on Friday night to score the two goals that turned the match in Blues' favour, taking his tally this season to eight.
"I've managed to come off the bench, I did it quite a few times last year for West Brom, I've done it a couple of times this year for Birmingham, so we're obviously delighted," the former England striker said.
And if Blues' fans are starting to see Phillips as a talisman then the statistics would seem to support their view, as all seven games in which he has scored have turned out to be victories for Alex McLeish's side.
