Goalkeeping coach Nigel Spink has left Birmingham City to join former manager Steve Bruce at Wigan Athletic.
The 49-year-old spent most of his career at Birmingham's city rivals Aston Villa where he played 461 games.
Spink is best remembered for coming on as a substitute in the European Cup final in 1982 as Villa beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in Rotterdam.
"Nigel is a superb coach and I am delighted to have him on board," Steve Bruce told Wigan's website.
