Birmingham City have agreed to spend £120,000 on a brand new playing surface at St. Andrews in the new year.
The pitch will be provided by specialist firm Inturf, who replaced Chelsea's pitch at Stamford Bridge and will soon do the same at Old Trafford.
The work is scheduled for 7 January and Blues boss Steve Bruce is clearly looking forward to the new surface.
"It's gone from being the best pitch in the league to being one of the worst," Bruce told the club website.
