Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce will have more talks about his future at St Andrews later this month.
Bruce, who has insisted he will not quit following his side's relegation from the Premiership this season, met with the club's board on Friday.
A statement on the club's website read: "It was a very good meeting.
"The board and Steve are working together to build a positive future for Birmingham City. They will meet again in a couple of week's time."
Bruce has been manager of Birmingham since December 2001 and steered the Blues to promotion to the Premiership that season.
They finished 10th in the top flight in 2004 but they have struggled for most of the current campaign and their relegation to the Championship was confirmed last week.
