Horsfield charged by FA
Horsfield could miss the start of the season
Horsfield (left) will appeal against the charge
Birmingham striker Geoff Horsfield has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association and could miss the start of the Premiership season.

The charge on City's player of the year relates to an incident which occurred during the First Division play-off semi-final against Millwall at St Andrews on 28 April.

While the off-the-ball incident was missed by the referee and his assistants at the time, the FA assessor reported it later.

A Birmingham spokesman said: "Geoff has asked the PFA to lodge an appeal for him and until the result of that is known we won't have a date for any hearing."
