Matt Hill signs full-time Barnsley contract

Wolves defender Matt Hill has signed a deal until the end of the season with Barnsley after a successful loan spell.

The 29-year-old, who started his career with Bristol City, was allowed to leave Wolves by mutual consent on Monday.

Hill initially joined the Reds on loan at the end of October and has since made eight appearances, including Tuesday's 2-0 win at Doncaster.

The defender joined Wolves in 2008 after three and a half years at Preston and also had a loan spell at QPR.

Meanwhile, Barnsley manager Mark Robins says he is no rush to add further to his squad, despite the closure of the January transfer window next week.

"It is a difficult time, but when we have got players fighting for the club and for the cause there is not too much rush," Robins said.

"We have plenty of new faces planned but it is just waiting to see if one of them comes off.

"With one or two more in number we would be feeling a little bit more comfortable, but they have to be the right quality as well."
