Barnsley manager Mark Robins has agreed terms with for Fulham winger Julian Gray on a short term contract.

The 29-year-old was released by the Cottagers at the end of last season and is available on a free transfer.

Reds manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Sheffield that Gray will add some experience and balance to the squad.

"I am pleased and it gives us another player with Championship and Premiership experience, he also brings a lot of pace as well."

"The added advantage is that he is unattached and he is not a loan signing so he frees me up to do other things in the loan market because you are only allowed to four at one time.

Robins added, "There is no doubt he can cover at left back, but his prime position is on the left hand side of midfield. He is certainly one that I am looking forward to seeing over the month period he will be with us."

Meanwhile, the Reds have taken Slovenian International Suad Filekovic on trial.

The 6 foot 3 inch defender has made 14 appearances for his country and has played previously for Hajduk Split and Olimpija Ljubljana.
