Former Derby defender Moore has missed six games with a groin injury.
Barnsley manager Simon Davey is hopeful veteran defender Darren Moore will be fit to face Plymouth on Saturday.
Moore has missed the last six games with a groin injury.
Davey told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He's got to get a full week's training under his belt [but] he's pain free, jogging, and has done the work with the physio.
"He's done most of the rehab and he's now in with the players. If he gets through he can go straight back in if Dennis [Souza] is still injured."
The Reds are without seven first-team players after losing Souza to a hamstring problem during their 2-0 defeat at Wolves, and midfielder Hugo Colace will be suspended for Saturday's visit of Plymouth.
The Argentinean picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Wolves.
