Barnsley striker Daniel Nardiello will miss the start of the season after fracturing a collarbone in training.
Nardiello, who scored one of Barnsley's goals in the League One play-off final at Cardiff in May, was hurt in a collision with team-mates.
"He will be out for between four and six weeks," said physio Rick Holden.
"Daniel will be in a sling for a while and have it strapped. He will go for a further X-ray in a couple of weeks to make sure everything is healing well."
Barnsley have, meanwhile, agreed to give a trial to French under-20 international striker Garra Dembele.
He plays for Auxerre and has scored 13 goals in 41 games for their reserve side in the past two seasons.
