Barnsley full-back Paul Gibbs has undergone surgery in a bid to clear up a persistent groin injury.

Gibbs, 30, was restricted to just 23 league starts in his first full season at the club.

He moved to Oakwell from Brentford last March.

The former Plymouth, Torquay and Colchester defender played just four times after the turn of the year.
