McClare in action for Barnsley against Tottenham

Barnsley's Sean McClare has been put on the transfer list as he aims to try and secure first team football.

The 22-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by under Barnsley manager Dave Bassett and spent part of last season on loan at Rochdale.

Bassett revealed that it had been a joint decision and was one that was in the best interests of the player.

The arrivals of Mitch Ward and Alex Neil at Oakwell, have pushed McClare, a product of the Tykes' youth system, further down the midfield pecking order.
