Charlton youngster Aswad Thomas has agreed a month's loan spell at Barnet.
The 19-year-old versatile defender will go straight into the squad for the Bees' game at Rochdale on Saturday.
Thomas has failed to make a first-team appearance for the Addicks, but was named on the bench twice, and played 13 times in a loan spell at Accrington.
Barnet have taken FC Mainz 05's French striker Francis Laurent, 22, on trial as Bees boss Paul Fairclough looks to improve his squad.
Fairclough told the club website: "We will have a look at [Laurent] over the next week."
The boss has also spoken to midfielder Nicky Deverdics, following his hernia surgery and expects him to be out for up to six weeks.
The 20-year-old joined the club this summer following the demise of Gretna.
