O'Brien played with Dundee for two seasons in the First Division

Ayr United have moved to sign up midfielder David O'Brien, recently released by Dundee.

The 25-year-old made 26 appearances for the Dens Park side last season but failed to find the net.

O'Brien, who spent the first six years of his career at Stirling Albion, joined Dundee in May 2007.

In his first campaign with the Dark Blues he scored twice in 22 games, while he hit 39 goals during his time with the Binos.
