Aston Villa have handed a trial to France Under-21 keeper Steve Mandanda.
Villa's reserve goalkeeper is Stuart Taylor
The Le Havre player will spend time at Villa Park after establishing himself as a first-team player last season.
"He'll come in for a couple of days so we can have a look at him and we'll see what happens after that," Villa manager Martin O'Neill told the club's website.
Reports suggest O'Neill is keen to sign a new keeper with Thomas Sorensen, who has only 12 months left of his deal, having not been offered a new contract.
Mandanda joined the French Ligue 2 club's academy in 2000.
