Arsenal have decided to postpone surgery on teenage star Theo Walcott's injured shoulder ligaments.
Walcott has struggled in recent weeks for Arsenal
Walcott, 17, scored his first goal for the Gunners in Sunday's Carling Cup final against Chelsea - only to end up on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline.
It had been due to be Walcott's last game of the season.
But his manager Arsene Wenger said: "We wanted him fit for the start of next season but then Abou Diaby got injured so probably we will have to delay it."
Walcott has had a mixed season when given the opportunity to play but Wenger was impressed by his display against Chelsea.
"He had a good performance and scored a good goal," said the Arsenal boss.
"The way he scored the goal was absolutely outstanding so I'm very happy for him because recently he has not had the best of times so to show the whole world how good he can be is great for us and for England."
