Arsenal defender Lauren has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season because of a knee injury.
Lauren adds to Arsenal's injury crisis
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said on Tuesday that the right-back would be out for around one month.
But the 28-year-old Cameroonian underwent surgery on Thursday where results proved the injury was more serious than first thought.
Lauren joins fellow defenders Pascal Cygan, Ashley Cole, Gael Clichy and Kerrea Gilbert on the injury list.
Sol Campbell is also out, having been given time off by Wenger who said the defender was "down".
Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue are away at the African Cup of Nations, leaving Wenger facing a defensive crisis.
