Arsenal have not stepped up their hunt for Spanish striker Fernando Torres despite sending a scout to watch the
Atletico Madrid player in action.
Torres supported Atletico Madrid as a boy and quickly became captain
Gunners scout Steve Rowley attended Atletico's match last weekend but the 21-year-old's agent insists Arsenal have not shown any interest in Torres.
"There has been no contact," agent Jose Antonio Martin told the Spanish newspaper Marca.
"The last time I spoke with Arsenal was a year and a half ago."
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was understood to want to bring Torres to Highbury to act as a foil to strike partners Thierry Henry and Jose Antonio Reyes.
But Atletico are reluctant to lose their star player and have written a £60m get-out clause into his contract.
Chelsea were warned off the Spanish international in the summer and Torres himself insisted he wanted to stay at the club until his contract expires in 2008.
