Ashdown joins Gunners
Stuart Taylor
Taylor has not played for Arsenal since January
Reading goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown has moved to Arsenal on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has signed a short-term deal with the Gunners, having been on trial at Highbury.

Ashdown has played for the Arsenal reserve side and will provide cover for the injured Stuart Taylor, who has not played since January.

Reading spokesman Andy West said: "They wanted someone to play in their reserves, and Jamie fitted the bill.

"He made his debut with Martin Keown in front of him and he will train with some of the best goalkeepers in the world.

"But there is no prospect of the deal becoming permanent, because his future is with us."
