Dalbeattie's Steele boosts Annan

Annan Athletic have completed a double raid on East of Scotland League club Dalbeattie Star by signing the versatile Jack Steele.

The Division Three outfit have negotiated a fee for Steele and midfielder Lewis Sloan, who they also recruited this summer from Dalbeattie.

Compensation was required because both players are under 23.

Steele, 20, who has signed a two-year contract, can play both at right-back or in central midfield.

He had come through the youth ranks at Queen of the South before moving to Dalbeattie.

Sloan, 22, was the East of Scotland League's player of the year last season.
