Elam joins Altrincham part-time

Blue Square Premier side Altrincham have signed former Exeter midfielder Lee Elam on a part-time basis.

Elam, who can play on the wing or up front, was recently on trial at York but has taken a role with the Robins to enable him to coach youngsters.

The 31-year-old was released by the Grecians in May, following their promotion to the Football League.

Elam has played for Guiseley, Southport, Morecambe, Halifax, Yeovil, Chester, Burton, Crawley and Weymouth.

York decided not to hand the veteran a deal after he played against Leeds and Middlesbrough in friendlies.
