Brown is looking to kick-start his career at Alloa
Alloa Athletic have signed Mark Brown on a free transfer after the defender was released by Clyde.
Brown began his career with Rangers before moving to Clyde via a spell in the amateur ranks.
Meanwhile, Wasps boss Allan Maitland may run out of time in his pursuit of Linlithgow Rose striker Brian Carrigan.
"We had a bid for Brian turned down over a month ago and I've heard nothing since, so I've started to look at other targets," he told the SFL website.
Carrigan was on loan at Recreation Park last season and previously played under Maitland at Hamilton Accies and Clyde.
Brown, who can also play in midfield, made more than 30 appearances for Clyde, scoring one goal for the side relegated to Division Two.
However, his contract was ripped up halfway through a two-year deal at Broadwood as the club tried to stave off administration by shedding their entire first-team squad.
