Owers has had spells in charge of Bath City and Weston-super-Mare
New Aldershot assistant manager Gary Owers has said he is aware of to size of the task that awaits him at the Recreation Ground.
The 41-year-old former Forest Green manager was appointed as Kevin Dillon's number two on Wednesday.
Owers told BBC Surrey: "The reality is that you haven't got fantastic training facilities, though they are good here.
"You haven't got massive squads, there isn't a lot of money, so you make do with what you've got."
The former Sunderland midfielder has also had spells in charge at Bath City and Weston-super-Mare and has worked as a coach at Bristol City and Portsmouth.
"Kevin has recognised that I want to coach and I feel that I'm strong in that area," Owers added.
"Hopefully I can bring a little bit of knowledge around players at the lower levels."
