Charles not concerned by changes

Anthony Charles
Charles has scored once in five appearances this season.

Aldershot defender Anthony Charles says he and his team mates are more concerned by matters on the pitch than affairs off it.

The 28-year-old has scored once for the Shots this season and is likely to feature in Saturday's League Two match against Rotherham.

He told BBC Surrey: "Through the week when you're training you hear things.

"Come the Saturday when you've got the game you don't think any of that, you just think you want to perform."

He added: "You want to get three points because that's all that matters."

"For me, I had to wait a couple of weeks to get my chance but now, with Doddy going to be charge for maybe a month, it's good because we don't want two weeks with the gaffer going and another two weeks with a new gaffer and then have another two weeks.

"You don't really want the chopping and changing. You want consistency, you want, maybe, one familiar face and we'll see over the next month how it goes and we can all help each other out here and we're all given jobs to do, if we do our jobs we'll see where we are in a month."

Aldershot are yet to appoint a permanent Chairman following the death of John McGinty last month and two board members stepped down earlier this week.

"You come into training or you go away from training, you see and read and hear stuff and it can be a little bit confusing but I don't think it's at the fore-front of your mind," Charles added.
