Chalmers signs new Shots contract

Chalmers has never played in the Football League before

Aldershot midfielder Lewis Chalmers has signed a new two-year contract in the wake of the Shots' promotion to the Football League.

The 22-year-old arrived from Altrincham in the summer and started 41 games in the Blue Square Premier.

Winger Joel Grant, 22, and back-up goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz, 23, have signed one-year deals.

Grant is the only player of the trio to have previous League experience, having played for Watford in 2005.
