Aldershot manager Gary Waddock has asked the fans to be patient as the club closes in on a return to the Football League.

They were held to a 2-2 draw at Droylsden on Thursday leaving them 15 points clear at the top.

Waddock told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "Everybody expects us to win in every game, and that's not possible.

"We cannot maintain the outstanding standards and performances that the players have set. It's impossible".

Waddock is confident his players can see it through: "Up until this point the players have been absolutely fantastic in the way they've gone about their business.

"It's all about what we do and our preparation will continue to be the same for every single game until the end".
