Accrington Stanley have signed Oldham Athletic defender Joe Jacobson and Fleetwood Town midfielder Ian Craney on loan until 3 January.

Both players have represented the club before with Craney re-joining for a third spell with Jacobsen spending two months on loan in 2006/07.

Jacobsen goes straight in to the squad for the FA Cup second round tie at Port Vale on Friday.

Craney will miss the visit to Vale Park as he is cup tied.

Speaking about Jacobsen's arrival, Stanley manager John Coleman told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We've had him before and he's a good player. He can play in a couple of positions.

"I know the fans liked him when he was here first time so hopefully they will be enthused by his arrival."

Craney told the club website: "I am delighted to be coming back. The move has come out of nowhere.

"But I have been keen to come back into the Football League. It's nice to get back to what you know and I have always enjoyed playing under John Coleman and Jimmy Bell."

Meanwhile, Fleetwood have taken Tranmere's youth team goalkeeper Andy Coughlin, 17, on work experience.
