Award win for Aberdeen's Pawlett

Peter Pawlett shows off his award
Pawlett has signed a long-term contract at Pittodrie

Aberdeen midfielder Peter Pawlett is the Clydesdale Bank Premier League young player of the month for November.

The 18-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Pittodrie club this season and helped the Dons pick up seven from a possible nine points last month.

Pawlett made his Aberdeen debut as a substitute in February's 5-0 Scottish Cup win over East Fife.

He made two starts at the end of last season and has now become an established member of the first team.

The midfielder agreed a new four-and-a-half year contract with Aberdeen in November.

"I'm absolutely delighted to win the award," said the teenager. "The manager has given me the chance and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

"Being a young boy in the first team and picking up this award has given me plenty of confidence.

"I suffered with injuries at the start of the season but since I came on against Dundee in the cup I haven't really ever looked back.

"I think I need to start scoring goals, that's something I need to bring to my game.

"But, apart from that, the team has been in quite good form and hopefully we can push on."

Dundee United's Craig Levein had earlier been named manager of the month, while Tannadice defender Andy Webster took the senior player award.
