November prize for Dons' Anderson
Aberdeen captain Russell Anderson
Anderson has been in great form for Aberdeen
Aberdeen captain Russell Anderson has been named Bank of Scotland Premier League player of the month.

The central defender has been in excellent form as the Dons put together an impressive run of results.

Aberdeen won three league matches and drew one in November, conceding just two goals in the process.

The 28-year-old Anderson is in his testimonial year at Pittodrie and has made nine appearances for Scotland in the last four years.

Anderson has been linked with moves to the Old Firm and English Premiership sides in recent weeks but the club insist he is not for sale.

And the skipper does not appear to be unduly phased by the numerous media reports.

"You never know in football," he said, when asked if he would consider leaving Pittodrie.

"But speculation about transfers is just part and parcel of football and eventually you become oblivious to it all as you try and concentrate on your game, which is the most important thing.

"The article about Celtic was just one story this week and, to be honest, I don't think that sort of thing has any affect on myself, or other people for that matter.

"After all, it is not as if the rumours have been really intense and it is just something which crops up now and again.

"I said at the start of this season when I had two years left on my contract I would happy to talk about staying here for longer, because I am currently enjoying my football at Aberdeen.

"Not much time has passed since then and my situation hasn't changed."
