Aberdeen hope to agree a compensation package that will rid them of high wage earners Leon Mike and Laurent D'Jaffo.

And they have dismissed suggestions that they have made a 250,000 bid for Chester City's Daryl Clare.

Fellow strikers Mike and D'Jaffo have been put on the transfer list as Aberdeen attempt to reduce their wage bill next season.

Dons manager Steve Paterson said: "We've not heard anything about Leon or Laurent moving to other clubs.

"But, if we can come to some sort of arrangement with them, that could mean paying up a bit of their contracts. It would be in their interests."

Meanwhile, Aberdeen say that they had Clare watched but were unable to bid for the player because Paterson has no funds for transfers.
