By Thomas McGuigan

2005: I'm going to bow out after a pleasing night for Scotland. An away win for the national side; two cracking goals and a debut for Huddersfield hotshot Jordan Rhodes. Thanks for your company and enjoy your weekend. Cheers!

1959: "I think we played exceptionally well on occasions. I felt we were a little bit careless in possession at times" Scotland coach Craig Levein

1957: Job done for Scotland with a solid if unspectacular display. Craig Levein's men were impressive in the opening 45 and Jamie Mackie was instrumental in the victory. And what about Kenny Miller's goal?

Full time
1955: CYPRUS 1-2 SCOTLAND

1954: Scotland debutant Jordan Rhodes fires in a 25-yard shot that Kissas does well to parry and Mackail-Smith can't convert the rebound.

1953: We're deep into injury time and the Scots are looking comfortable.

1949: Second-half substitutions have taken the sting out of this friendly, with a couple of minutes remaining for Scotland to hold on or Cyprus to equalise.

1947: Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes makes his Scotland debut, coming on for Jamie Mackie. The marksman has about four minutes to try to make it a scoring one.

1945: "I think the Tartan Army probably want Scotland to take more chances when they're in attacking positions" BBC Scotland commentator Alasdair Lamont

1943: Scotland are stroking the ball about with little pressure from Cyprus and the visitors are looking good to see this out for victory.

1942: Barry Robson is withdrawn and Cardiff City midfielder Craig Conway is given 10 minutes to shine.

Twitter
1940: EthuCrorie on Twitter using the hashtag #bbcsportsound: "Can't get Barry Robson off yet?"

1936: You'd fancy another goal from either side before full-time here. Cyprus are slow in their build up play before trying to free Christofi but the Scots still lead 2-1 with 14 minutes remaining.

1934: Stephen Crainey comes on for Phil Bardsley as Scotland boss Craig Levein shuffles his pack with 17 minutes remaining.

1931: Dimitris Christofi tries to spark some creativity among the Cypriot ranks and the number 9 continues to look dangerous for the hosts. A lusty rendition of Flower of Scotland is boomed out by the band of travelling supporters.

1930: We've got a little over 20 minutes remaining in Larnaca and, with his side leading by two goals to one, Craig Levein must be a contented man in the Scotland dugout.

Yellow card
1928: Scotland and Rangers full-back Steven Whittaker earns a booking for a foul on Efrem. Cyprus aren't out of this game yet...

1927: Kenny Miller and Darren Fletcher trot off for Scotland and are replaced by Craig Mackail-Smith and James McArthur respectively.

Twitter
1925: Bringthemonjon on Twitter: "Best goal I've seen Kenny Miller score. With form like this, a loan move to Rangers could be on!"

Cyprus goal: It's been coming: Cyprus deservedly pull a goal back as Dimitris Christofi steals a march on Phil Bardsley and drills a low shot beyond the reach of Allan McGregor. Game on!

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
1921: GOAL! CYPRUS 1-2 SCOTLAND (CHRISTOFI)

Scotland goal: The visitors double their lead with a sublime individual effort. Jamie Mackie picks up the ball on the left and dances past a couple of Cypriot challenges before passing the ball low into the far corner of the net beyond Kissas. Two cracking Scotland goals tonight.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
1918: CYPRUS 0-2 SCOTLAND (JAMIE MACKIE)

1917: Cyprus press for an equaliser but once again Dobrasinovic is thwarted as his effort is blocked.

1916: The bagpipes can be heard inside the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium as the Tartan Army look to cause a bit of a din.

1914: Steven Whittaker sends in a deep cross but Solomou clears the ball. Scotland press again and Barry Robson's low drive is well-saved by substitute keeper Tasos Kissas.

1911: Scotland defender Christophe Berra, who has been superb tonight, snuffs out a Cypriot attack as Demitris Christofi looked to test Allan McGregor.

1909: But the hosts can't profit as the Scots clear. Craig Levein will be happy with his side's display so far.

1907: Phil Bardsley chops down Demitris Christofi about 30 yards from goal wide on the right...

Whistle
1905: No changes for Scotland as the second half gets under way in Larnaca.

1903: Can Scotland progress from the World Cup 2014 qualification group? The Scots have got Wales in Group A with Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, and Macedonia. Surely we can make it to the finals in Brazil?

1901: BBC Sportsound is discussing rampant speculation that Chick Young may be in line to make a shock appearance on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. The mind boggles...

Twitter
1853: Son_of_Scotland on Twitter on the musical pun theme: "Cyprus Hill! Easy." Ha! Or Cypress Nil as things stand...

1852: "I must admit I was a bit concerned at the start. But, once they calmed down, it has been better and they can be quietly comfortable going into the second half thinking they can add to it" BBC Two Scotland pundit Pat Nevin

1850: The half-time cup of tea for the Cypriots will have a bitter taste; they've struck the woodwork twice but trail at the break. Kenny Miller will remember THAT goal for a long, long time. And the Scots grew in confidence as the half progressed. As friendlies go, this has been a cracking encounter.

Half time
1849: CYPRUS 0-1 SCOTLAND

1847: Scotland play some lovely stuff again as Robson and Whittaker combine but a promising move fizzles out and the Cypriots survive; it remains 1-0 Scotland.

1846: James Morrison tries an audacious little chip - like a wedge into the 18th at St Andrews - but his clever effort is tipped over by the over-worked Georgallides, who appeas to have hurt his neck in the process.

1844: We're racking our brains in the office for some musical puns tonight. Best so far is anything by Billy Ray Cyprus. Help us out people!

Twitter
1841: Marneyy on Twitter via #bbcsportsound: "My one problem with Scotland tonight. Barry Robson. What's worse? Barry Robson playing on the right hand side. Ouch! I thought Robson's performed quite well so far...

1838: I'm loving this Scotland strip - might have to invest in one before my next game of 5-a-sides - but worthy of even greater admiration is some cracking play by Craig Levein's men. Kenny Miller's goal has sparked the visitors into life and they're playing some great stuff. Can we start our World Cup 2014 qualification campaign now please?

1836: Scotland should be two-up. A great move by the visitors down the right sees Steven Whittaker send in a low wicked cross but Merkis somehow prevents Kenny Miller from firing home his and Scotland's second of the night.

1834: Jamie Mackie: what a run! Mackie thunders down the left before slaloming past a couple of Cypriot challenges only to see his drive tipped over by Georgallides. That was reminiscent of that famous John Barnes goal against Brazil in the Maracana...

1833: "If that that bit of skill was by a Brazilian, we would be talking about it for ages!" BBC Two Scotland pundit Kevin Gallacher

Twitter
1832: Marneyy on Twitter using #bbcsportsound mirrors most Scots' thoughts by saying: "What a finish from Kenny Miller!"

1831:
Yellow card
Cyprus earn their second yellow card of the game; Dobrasinovic has his name taken for a foul on Barry Robson.

Someone has struck the woodwork
1829: If Scotland's goal came against the run of play, the Cypriots aren't feeling sorry for themselves: Dobrasinovic sees his piledriver cannon back off the left-hand post with Allan McGregor beaten all ends up.

1828: Miller's strike had the entire Scotland bench on their feet and manager Craig Levein was clapping away with gusto!

Scotland goal: Take a bow son, take a bow. Christophe Berra sends a long diagonal ball towards Kenny Miller and the striker sends a majestic strike past the despairing Georgallides and into the top corner. Ya beauty!

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
1826: GOAL! CYPRUS 0-1 SCOTLAND (KENNY MILLER)

1825: Barry Robson finds Kenny Miller with an accurate long ball but the striker drags his shot wide of Georgallides's goal.

1823: It's been an entertaining and open 20 minutes but the Scots will be looking for a cutting edge when they get close to the Cypriot goal.

1821: Don Cowie threads a cracking ball through to Jamie Mackie but the QPR man's touch is too heavy and the chance is lost.

Someone has struck the woodwork
1820: What a chance for Cyprus! Former Rangers midfielder Georgios Efrem finds himself in space in the box after superbly chesting down a long ball but his stinging drive is pushed onto the bar by Allan McGregor. Superb save!

1819: Barry Robson is chopped down by Nektarios Alexandrou but no booking this time.

1817: The Scots are beginning to get a bit of joy down the right hand side but Barry Robson's inviting cross is repelled by the Cypriots.

1815: Gary Caldwell and Steven Whittaker combine down the right but the latter's pass for James Morrison is too heavy and the Cypriots recover to lash the ball clear. The Scots haven't really found their feet in the opening 15 minutes.

Yellow card
1813: First booking of the night as Jason Demetriou is penalised for an eye-watering sliding tackle on Jamie Mackie. Nothing friendly about that challenge...

1809: Cyprus press again and Allan McGregor saves from Christofi's header. The Cypriot was unmarked there. Scotland break on the counter and an enterprising run by Steven Whittaker fizzles out on the edge of the penalty area.

1808: Former Rangers midfielder Georgios Efrem forces Scotland keeper Allan McGregor into the first save of the night. The hosts look content to sit deep and hit the Scots on the break.

Twitter
1806: PaulBatesMN on Twitter: "Most of Terrier Huddersfield keeping an eye on the Rhodes tonight to see how he does. #proudofthelad"

1805: Dithering from Scotland captain Darren Fletcher almost sees Christofi in on goal but Christophe Berra is alert to the danger and snuffs out the threat.

1804: Scotland defender Gary Caldwell sends a long ball through to striker Kenny Miller but the ball skids off the turf and away from the Cardiff marksman.

Whistle
1803: We're under way!

1800 Not a fantastic crowd inside the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium and the visiting Tartan Army appear to outnumber the home fans...

1759: The players are out on the pitch as we hear the respective national anthems.

1758: From anon by text on 80295: "If Craig Levein plays one up front in a friendly then he cannot be taken seriously as the man to take us forward. What is the point in taken all the newcomers just to play the same players?" Remember to give us your name on texts and tweets - we do like to credit you!

1756: "The feelgood factor will increase if we bang in a few goals" Former Scotland international Scott Booth

1755: Scotland manager Craig Levein has just told BBC Sportsound listeners that his team will line up 4-1-4-1 in Larnaca. He also intends to give Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes and Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks the nod from the bench at some stage...

Twitter
1753: What do you make of that Scotland starting line-up? Get in touch via Twitter using the hashtag #bbcsportsound send me a message @thomasmcg76 or text via 80295.

1750: Cypriot coach Nikos Nioplias plans to experiment with youth in tonight's friendly. Nioplias took charge of the national team in June, following the end of the seven-year reign of Angelos Anastasiadis.

1747: The Cypriots finished bottom of Group H with a meagre two points from a miserable campaign. Scotland are 51st in the world rankings, the hosts are 120th. Surely Craig Levein's men will do the business tonight?

1745: Both sides will be looking for victory tonight to banish the disappointment of contrasting Euro 2012 qualifying campaigns. Scotland lost out on a play-off place to the Czech Republic.

1743: Cardiff City striker Kenny Miller will plough a lone furrow up front the visitors; Steven Whittaker replaces former Rangers team-mate Alan Hutton at right-back, with the Aston Villa defender having withdrawn from the squad last week.

1742: TEAMS FROM LARNACA:
CYPRUS: Georgallides, Merkis, Alexandrou, Demetriou, Parpas, Satsias, Dobrasinovic, Solomou, Avraam, Christofi, Efrem. Subs: Kissas, Charalambous, Sielis, Katsis, Stavrou, Vasilou, Mitidis, Nicolaou, Mastrou.
