St Johnstone came from behind against Hibs and ended their goal drought to snatch a late win at Easter Road.

Akpo Sodje opened the scoring for Hibs in the 23rd minute, striking on the volley after good work by Paul Hanlon.

Alan Maybury sent an effort over the bar shortly after the hour mark before Liam Craig headed in a Danny Grainger corner after 73 minutes to level.

Craig turned provider in stoppage time when he dragged back for Kevin Moon to fire in a late winner.

Craig's header ended St Johnstone's lengthy barren spell that had stretched back to early March, while Moon's winner put the Perth side level on points with eight-placed Hibs.

Goalkeeper Jakub Divis made his Hibernian debut alongside David Stephens, Lewis Stevenson and Ricardo Vaz Te in a much-changed line-up, with Mark Brown, Liam Miller, Derek Riordan and David Wotherspoon all dropping to the bench.

St Johnstone also made four changes, with Peter Enckelman, Jamie Adams, Kevin Moon and Peter MacDonald promoted to the starting XI at Easter Road.

Early in the match, St Johnstone's MacDonald tested Divis but the Czech keeper held it comfortably.

Vaz Te then cut in from the right and saw a left-foot effort palmed over by Saints keeper Enckelman.

A full 23 minutes elapsed before Hibs took the lead when Hanlon played the ball over from the left and Sodje struck on the volley, sending it into the back of the St Johnstone net.

Vaz Te broke free free shortly after the half hour mark with Calum Booth waiting to pounce, but the Portuguese striker let the ball drift too far ahead and Enckelman smothered the danger.

Shortly after the restart, Hanlon fired a low ball towards the St Johnstone goal, but Enckelman had it covered, then Sodje delivered a cross to Stevenson who could only take a fresh-air swipe at the ball and Alan Maybury made the clearance.

Vaz Te hit the inside of the St Johnstone post in the 64th minute then, moments later, Maybury sent the ball over the bar at the other end.

The equaliser arrived with 16 minutes remaining when Craig leapt to head home from a Grainger corner, ending almost 800 minutes of play St Johnstone had gone without scoring a league goal.

With five minutes remaining MacDonald aimed a close-range shot at the Hibernian goal after good work by Maybury, but Francis Dickoh made the block.

In the dying stages of the match, Craig pulled the ball back from close range and Moon sent it over the line to ensure victory for the visitors.
