By Thomas McGuigan & David McDaid

1656: So that's Rangers back on top of the league by a single point from Celtic with the same number of games played. That's also 21 league games for the Ibrox side without defeat. Otherwise the only movers in the table today were St Johnstone and Hearts, who swapped places after the Saints came from behind in the lunchtime kick-off to win 2-1 in Edinburgh. I'll take my leave now, ladies and gents. Check back again tomorrow when - weather permitting - we'll have Dundee United v Celtic to guide you through. Enjoy your Saturday night.

My Sport
PaisleyBuddies on My Sport says: "When did refs get so bad.... it usually happens around 3pm every Saturday."

FULL-TIME: St Mirren 1-1 Hibernian

1652: St Mirren v Hibs is around five minutes behind all the others SPL games after the late re-start.

FULL-TIME: Motherwell 1-1 Aberdeen

Champagne moment
1652: Congratulations to Falkirk. It's been a long, LONG time coming, but they've finally got that elusive first win under new boss Eddie May.

FULL-TIME: Rangers 3-0 Kilmarnock

FULL-TIME: Falkirk 2-0 Hamilton

"It's been a cracking second half here at Fir Park." BBC Scotland's Billy Dodds watches Darren Mackie just miss the chance to steal all three points for Aberdeen against Motherwell.

"Hibs have lacked belief that they could go on and win the game after Riordan's goal." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Rob MacLean. Looks like it's going to end all square at New St Mirren Park.

1644: You can tell we're into the home straight... the guys on Open All Mics are now speaking about Jedward and the X-Factor. Please help.

1641: Kevin Thomson is so close to making it 4-0 for Rangers as he hits the post from outside the box from a powerful strike.

My Sport
From bringthemonjpn on My Sport: "McGhee's face is brighter red than the Aberdeen players' shirts. What was McDonald thinking of?"

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Cue celebrations, Bairns fans. And the clincher has come form the unlikely hero, Lee Bullen. The 64-year-old who fires the afterburners on his zimmer to spring the offside trap and shoot the ball across the goalkeeper and into the net. Ok, Bullen's 38, but he's now more used to coaching than playing. Good effort!

1634:GOAL: Falkirk 2-0 Hamilton

"Billy Reid must be tearing his hair out that his team have played well but haven't scored." BBC Scotland's Sandy Clark watches on as Hamilton struggle to break down Falkirk. The Bairns have 10 minutes to hold on for their first league win of the season.

My Sport
From fraz_afc on My Sport: "Just as Aberdeen get back into the game, a ridiculous decision has spoiled the game yet again. When did referees get so bad?"

1630: Some last-ditch defending stops Rangers from going 4-0 up as Lafferty's header is cleared off the line.

1626: The rules are the rules, but come on! A little bit of common sense please. At Ibrox Kris Boyd comes off to a standing ovation with Kyle Lafferty introduced in his stead for Rangers.

Red card
Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Right, it's all happening at Fir Park. Aberdeen are back in the game thanks to Gary McDonald who heads in off Charlie Muglrew's cross. THEN... McDonald, who had already been booked, takes off his shirt to celebrate. Second yellow ensues. McDonald walks.

1624: RED CARD: Aberdeen's Gary McDonald

1624: GOAL: Motherwell 1-1 Aberdeen

1622: Falkirk's Olejnik keeps the three-point dream alive, saving from Simon Mensing.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Dare Falkirk dream? Can they get their first league win since May? Chris Mitchell gives them a foot up with a stunning right-footed free-kick round a four-man wall into the top-right corner of the net.

1620: GOAL: Falkirk 1-0 Hamilton

"It's all about work rate and Falkirk just aren't consistent enough." BBC Scotland's Sandy Clark. Still goalless there.

1615: Sasa Papac sweeps a shot towards goal but it drifts wide as Rangers come close to a fourth, says BBC Scotland's swashbuckling pirate commentator John Barrrrrrrnes. Get it?

1613:
Yellow card
Killie's Kevin Kyle goes in the book for persistent fouling. "I think sometimes he just gets booked because he's big." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson says. That just wouldn't be fair. Would that be 'big-ist'?

1612: Derek Riordan blazes a free-kick high over the bar and that doesn't trouble keeper Paul Gallacher this time.

1610: Some people have texted to ask Chick Young to stop the 'Kris Boyd love-in'. He's another who could return to the Scotland team. Is he another you would like to see back in the dark blue? Let us know on My Sport:

1608: Finally St Mirren and Hibs are back playing. The delay was down to the referee taking his time coming out of the dressing room.

1606:Just to clear something up. There is a rumour going about that Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo has quit. This is just a rumour. Our information is that he is STILL Hearts manager.

1605: Motherwell keeper John Ruddy has to look smart to palm away Jerel Ifil's header as Aberdeen try to get back level. STILL no play in Paisley.

1602:We're just waiting for St Mirren v Hibs to get underway again. The rest are back on.

My Sport
From bringthemonjpn On My Sport: "Not sure what McGhee is trying to do with his tactics. At least with Calderwood there was a bit of adventure about the play. Now all the players look terrified to hold on to the ball in case they make a mistake."

1557:Right... After losing to St Johnstone, there COULD be some more bad news for Hearts fans in the coming days. Marius Zaliukas and Andy Driver will visit specialists in London next week to have their injuries assessed. Having said that, there could also be good news if they get the all-clear.

1554: Sheesh! Plenty of goals there. Only Falkirk and Hamilton letting the side down a bit. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to stick my smoking fingers under a cold tap for five minutes.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
What an end to the first 45 at New St Mirren Park. And it's no more than the hosts deserve. They've been on top in the half, and go in level at the break thanks to Chris Innes, who sends a header by Graham Stack.

HALF-TIME: St Mirren 1-1 Hibernian

GOAL: St Mirren 1-1 Hibernian

HALF-TIME: Motherwell 1-0 Aberdeen

HALF-TIME: Falkirk 0-0 Hamilton

HALF-TIME: Rangers 3-0 Kilmarnock

1545:Ha! Our commentator at Ibrox John Barnes gets a bit carried away with Rangers' unrelenting push for more goals, and emits a cry which sounds like a pirate with a sore head.

1541:Gavin Skelton goes through on Rangers' goal but his shot is blocked by McGregor. That's the former Scotland goalie's third decent save of the game. The SFA have opened the door for him and Barry Fergsuon to play again for Scotland. Do you think that's right?

1535: At Falkirk McLean shoots, but his effort is deflected wide to give the hosts their first corner of the match. Meanwhile, at Ibrox Naismith misses the chance to put Rangers 4-0 up.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Poor old Killie. Thirty-five minutes played - and they've played well - but they're 3-0 down. Credit to Rangers, who've been lethal when the chances present themselves. This time it's Steven Whittaker who scores at the second attempt after Brown blocks his first shot.

GOAL: Rangers 3-0 Kilmarnock

1530: Falkirk's Brian McLean blocks an effort from Antoine-Curier after Ryan Flynn gave away the ball in midfield. We need goals there... come on lads.

1530: Killie are not letting their game dip despite being 2-0 down at Ibrox. Kyle blasts a shot towards goal from 25 years but McGregor dives to his left to keep Rangers' goal intact.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Hibs take the lead against the run of play. And it's a special strike by Derek Riordan. The Scotland man fires an unstoppable shot past Paul Gallacher from 25 yards. Where's the "Scorchio!" pic when you need it?

1529: GOAL: St Mirren 0-1 Hibernian

"I've been really impressed with Antoine-Curier." BBC Scotland's Sandy Clark. Still no goals between Falkirk and Hamilton though.

1527: St Mirren midfielder Andy Dorman wastes a great chance to fire the hosts in front as he screws his shot wide one-on-one with Graham Stack.

"Rangers have taken their chances. Two clinical finishes." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Lee McCulloch flicks the ball on for Kenny Miller to slot past Brown. That's Miller's fifth goal of the season. I've got 4-0 to Rangers for this one in The Predictor. Sorry, Killie fans...

1525:GOAL: Rangers 2-0 Kilmarnock

It seems like out pundits are in a agreement about the Dons defence: "Motherwell are able to hit Aberdeen on the break. There doesn't seem to be any cover in the Aberdeen team when they push up the pitch." BBC Scotland football pundit Steve Cowan

1522: Chances are coming think and fast at Ibrox. Killie keeper Mark Brown makes a good reflex save to deny Naismith again.

1520:Apparently there's just been a standing ovation in Falkirk for the referee... after he simply awarded the home side a free-kick.

"We haven't mentioned the Hamilton centre-halves. They've had nothing to do. But it's all about putting the ball in the net and it's still 0-0" BBC Scotland's Sandy Clark tells it like it is.

1517: Manuel Pascali came close to getting an equaliser for Killie at Ibrox, but his volley was blocked by McGregor. Up the other end Steven Naismith passes up a one-on-one chance against the keeper.

"Aberdeen are all over the place defensively!" BBC Scotland's Billy Dodds at Fir Park.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
And it's the Young Player of the Month for October, Lukas Jutkiewicz. The on-loan Everton man beats Jamie Langfield at the near post with a strike from 16 yards out.

1514:GOAL: Motherwell 1-0 Aberdeen

"The Falkirk fans getting a bit impatient." BBC Scotland's Scott Davie. Give them a chance! They've only played 13 minutes!

1512: At St Mirren Park the home side appear to be on top. Midfielder Andy Dorman sends in a wicked free-kick but referee Willie Collum blows for a foul on keeper Graham Stack.

1509: Boyd finds the net again but is this time he's offside. Boyd is now only nine goals behind Henrik Larsson as the SPL's all-time top scorer. Looks like he's desperate to overtake the Swede. He couldn't do it today, surely!

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Can you guess who? Kris Boyd of course. The striker latches onto a neat Kevin Thomson through ball and coolly slots past goalkeeper Mark Brown. It's Boyd's 14th goal against his former club.

1507:GOAL: Rangers 1-0 Kilmarnock

1506: Falkirk goalkeeper Robert Olejnik collects the ball at the feet of Mickael Antoine-Curier after a mistake from Christopher Mitchell. Allan Preston says it's been a good start to that game.

"Kevin Kyle is a potential match winner if Kilmarnock can get the ball into the box." BBC Scotland pundit Craig Paterson at Ibrox.

1502:Fantastic save by Allan McGregor for Rangers as Kilmarnock's Kevin Kyle jumps high to head towards goal from six yards.

1500:And we're off all over the country.

1450: Interesting news from Tannadice... The weather's so bad on Tayside that Dundee United have scheduled a pitch inspection for 0830 tomorrow ahead of their game against Celtic.

1448: And what about the big basement battle at the Falkirk Stadium? The Bairns haven't won in the league this season. But you've got to think they're still high as kites after that 3-3 draw against Celtic in the last game. Hamilton are the visitors today. 1-1 says Sandy Clark.

1446: Murdo MacLeod's predicting a 2-1 win for Hibs over St Mirren in Paisley.

1443: BBC Scotland's Steve Cowan reckons it'll be 2-1 to Motherwell against Aberdeen today. But, what do YOU think? have you remembered to do The Predictor ?

1440:Motherwell boss Jim Gannon is a bit of a huff with the media. He wouldn't give us a pre-match interview for the second game running. Sorry 'Well fans. We tried.

1439:Goncalves REALLY blew it today! He was going to be named the Sportsound Man of the Match by John Robertson. He's lost out all round today.

1436: I've got to say that turned out to be a decent spectacle at Tynecastle. It was pretty poor stuff in the first half. But check out the highlights on the website at 1800 GMT tomorrow to see that cracking Nade goal. the other thing you might want to check is the Goncalves sending-off.

1432: If I'm not wrong you'll have to do a manual refresh to see the change of author... Wouldn't want Thomas getting stick for all my mistakes now...

1429: What a result for St Johnstone, but Hearts' slump continues. I'm passing the baton to my esteemed colleague David McDaid, who will steer you through until full-time in our four remaining games. Cheers!

1421: A dejected Christian Nade trudges off the sodden Tynecastle pitch; he scored an absolute cracker but couldn't prevent 10-man Hearts from losing to an impressive St Johnstone. It's well worth catching the highlights of the game on this website at 1800 GMT on Sunday to see Nade's goal and the controversial red card for Jose Goncalves.

1420: FULL TIME Hearts 1-2 St Johnstone

1418: Hearts defender Lee Wallace launches the ball forward but he can't find a maroon shirt. Saints are almost there...

1417: We're into two minutes of injury time at Tynecastle.

1416: "It's hard for me to say this, but St Johnstone thoroughly deserve to be in front." BBC Scotland's John Robertson

1414:
Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
St Johnstone suber-sub Jonathan Johansson fires home from close range after Liam Craig heads Jody Morris's deep cross back across goal. The visiting fans are in dreamland, the Jambos are streaming for the exits.

1413: GOAL Hearts 1-2 St Johnstone (Jonathan Johansson)

1411: Poor Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo looks fit to pop on the touchline. The Hungarian is "drookit" and looks as though he's just slid down one of the flumes at the Time Capsule in his suit. More orders are barked at his Jambo charges.

1409: St Johnstone are looking dangerous on the counter attack and the home fans' blood pressure isn't helped by substitute David Witteveen surrendering possession cheaply.

1408: "This game has been a cameo of Hearts' season." BBC Scotland's John Robertson

1407: The Hearts supporters are still giving the referee pelters over the sending off. There's 10 minutes remaining for 10-man Hearts to hold out for a point.

1406: BBC Scotland's John Robertson says, because none of the St Johnstone players protested following Goncalves's challenge, that the referee may have been a little harsh with the Portuguese there.

1404:
Red card
Hearts defender Jose Goncalves is given his marching orders for a high boot challenge on Liam Craig. The home fans are far from happy with referee Stevie O'Reilly.

1402: St Johnstone midfielder Jody Morris is denied by a wonderful save by Janos Balogh.

1401: Collin Samuel sends two shots wide of the Hearts goal within a minute. Either side could win this game, with 16 minutes to go.

1400:
Yellow card
Hearts midfielder Ian Black goes into the referee's book for a lunge on St Johnstone substitute Kevin Moon.

1358: But Hearts captain Michael Stewart sends his free-kick over the bar. Jambos boss Csaba Laszlo is back in angry-dancing-bear mode.

1357: St Johnstone centre half Stewart McCaffrey is penalised for hauling down David Witteveen on the edge of the area. Great chance for Hearts to retake the lead.

1356: "If David Witteveen scores, I'll be asking Csaba Laszlo for his lottery numbers tonight." BBC Scotland's John Robertson

1354: Liam Craig comes on for Filipe Morais and David Witteveen is introduced for Hearts with Gary Glen trudging off. Just over 20 minutes remaining for either side to find a winner.

1353: Hearts midfielder Ian Black threads a great through ball to Christian Nade, but the striker is flagged offside.

1351: Filipe Morais, the man who supplied the cross for St Johnstone's equaliser, receives some treatment for a leg knock. Not sure if he's struggling with his hamstring.

1350: Queen of the South's Division One clash with Dunfermline at Palmerston has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

1349: "It's a wonderfully headed goal, and given their crisp, sharp start to the second half, it's deserved." BBC Scotland's John Robertson

1347:
Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Filipe Morais finds himself in space on the left hand side and he sends a sumptuous cross into the box. Collin Samuel rises above the Hearts defence to bullet a header past the helpless Balogh. Great cross, even better header and that's 1-1.

1346:GOAL! Hearts 1-1 St Johnstone (Collin Samuel)

1344: "Christian Nade's feeling good about himself. There's a weight, if you'll pardon the pun, off his shoulders." BBC Scotland's John Robertson.

1342: Both sides are struggling to establish any rhythm in the driving rain at Tynecastle. Hearts just about merit their lead. Saints need to get Collin Samuel more involved in proceedings if they want to go back to Perth with a point.

1338: Lee Wallace scythes down Kenny Deuchar and St Johnstone have another free-kick in a dangerous area but again the delivery is poor.

1337: But Grainger sends his shot straight at the wall and Hearts clear the danger.

1336: Collin Samuel earns a free-kick on the edge of the Hearts penalty area. Chance for the visitors to restore parity here. Danny Grainger sets himself to fire one in...

1335: St Johnstone are snapping at Hearts heels early in the second half but have yet to seriously test Janos Balogh.

1333: "People are saying it's getting dark around Scotland - well, we've got the Moon out here." BBC Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell introduces St Johnstone substitute Kevin Moon.
Will he be a full moon after his dinner? Ouch, sorry, a line from Alan Partridge there...

1332: The second half gets under way at Tynecastle.

1327:
My Sport
From Bringthemonjpn On My Sport: "Now that Hearts have scored their once-a-month goal, let's hope St Johnstone can get an early one back in the second half."

1317: Hearts are kings of Tynecastle at the break courtesy of Christian Nade's first goal in 23 games. That has to be an early contender for goal of the season.

1315: HALF-TIME Hearts 1-0 St Johnstone

1313: Suddenly, Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo is an oasis of calm on the touchline. With Christian Nade playing with a spring in his step, the Jambos are at last baring their teeth.

1311: With Ninja-like reflexes, Hearts goalkeeper Janos Balogh races from goal to save bravely at the feet of Filipe Morais. St Johnstone come agonisingly close to an equaliser against the run of play.

1310: "Jason Thomson is a player all right. He is not shy about getting forward. That was a great drive from him!" BBC Radio Scotland pundit John Robertson is evidently a fan of the Hearts right-back.

1309: Dial A Cliche, as Morrissey once sang, but what a difference a goal makes. Hearts are suddenly swarming all over St Johnstone and David Obua is denied by a brilliant Graeme Smith save, and Ruben Palazuelos fluffs his lines inside the box. Saints are rocking here, six minutes before the break and Hearts are going for the jugular.

1308: "It's a terrific goal. He just rolls the centre half and strikes it beautifully. It's a big big goal for Hearts and a big big goal for Christian Nade." BBC Scotland's John Robertson

1306:
Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Did I mention the game was crying out for a bit of magic? Christian Nade gathers the ball about 30 yards from goal and sends a howitzer of a shot past the despairing reach of Saints keeper Graeme Smith.
What. A. Goal.

1305: GOAL! Hearts 1-0 St Johnstone (Christian Nade)

1301: Christian Nade tries to lob the ball over the St Johnstone defence for the galloping Gary Glen but the sea of blue holds firm and Hearts are frustrated once again.

1259: BBC Radio Scotland pundit John Robertson has just noted there seems to be a fear factor permeating Tynecastle at the moment. Certainly, the groans of disapproval that greet every failed foray forward are getting louder...

1258: Hearts left back Lee Wallace scampers down the wing but his delivery is easily repelled by the St Johnstone defence and the game is crying out for a bit of magic.

1257: Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo is beginning to lose his temper over his side's lack of cutting edge. With suit jacket and tie fluttering in the Edinburgh breeze, he bellows some tactical instructions to his midfield. Clearly, the Hungarian is expects better.

1256: "It's a lively enough opening but you can sense the frustration from the stands. Hearts don't produce much up front." BBC Radio Scotland's John Robertson

1253: Neither goalkeeper has been forced into making a save of any note in a fairly drab opening 25 minutes in the Scottish capital.

1251: St Johnstone striker Kenny Deuchar takes a sore one in the face after Jose Goncalves catches him flush in the coupon with a stray boot. The Saints man tumbles to the ground but no penalty.

1249: The ball is taking an absolute doing in midfield and Janos Balogh thumps it towards the moon and out for a shy to St Johnstone. Come on boys, get the finger out and give us some football!

1247: Christian Nade gets his head to a monster, monster kick from Hearts keeper Janos Balogh but heads the ball straight out for a St Johnstone goal kick. Eye-wateringly poor stuff there...

1246: After an enterprising start, Hearts are sending long balls towards lone frontman Christian Nade and St Johnstone look far more comfortable repelling these aerial attacks.

1243:
My Sport
From David Attenborough On My Sport: "It shows how far the level of the SPL has plummeted that an English lower-league reject (Jody Morris) is now 'pulling the strings' for a top level Scottish team."
A bit harsh there Davy boy!

1242: Filipe Morais carves out the visitors' first chance of the game, sending a low shot from inside the penalty area towards goal but Janos Balogh gathers comfortably.

1240: St Johnstone appear to have weathered the early Hearts storm, much to the chagrin of Jambos boss Csaba Laszlo, who is pacing the technical area like a Hungarian bear with a sore head.

1238:
My Sport
From mugpunter32 On My Sport: "St Johnstone are a good team to watch but I think Hearts will just have too much for them. 1-0 would be my bet. "

1236: Christian Nade and David Obua combine with the latter sending a wicked cross into the box but midfielder Ian Black sends his shot wide of the post. Great chance for the Jambos to draw first blood.

1235: Hearts striker Christian Nade shows a bit of magic to dance away from a couple of St Johnstone challenges but his cross is punched clear by Smith. A great start by the hosts at Tynecastle...

1232: Hearts fans howl for a free-kick following Danny Grainger's backpass to Saints keeper Graeme Smith but referee Stevie O'Reilly is having none of it!

1231: Saints boss Derek McInnes made three changes from the side that lost 2-1 at Aberdeen. Graham Gartland failed to shake off a shoulder problem and Stuart McCaffrey deputised. Liam Craig and Jonatan Johansson also dropped to the bench for Kenny Deuchar and Filipe Morais. Danny Grainger shrugged off a thigh knock to start.

1230: We're under way at Tynecastle.

1226: Hearts, who are looking to arrest a run of three league games without a goal, bring in Gary Glen and David Obua for Andrew Driver and Arvydas Novikovas.

1222:
My Sport
From GlasgowJambo1987 On My Sport: "It really is too close to call. St Johnstone create chances and take them, Hearts keep it tight and create chances but don't take them. So much will depend on the first goal - and there will be goals I'm sure of that."

1220: Following a traumatic week for Scotland and former manager George Burley, it's good to get our teeth into some SPL action again.

1219: Later this afternoon, we've got Rangers against Kilmarnock, St Mirren take on Hibs, it's Falkirk against Hamilton and Motherwell host Aberdeen. Here's hoping for a goalfest!

1217: The two sides battled out an entertaining 2-2 draw at McDiarmid Park in August. Saints won on their last visit to the Jambos' ground in March 2002, a few months before the Perth side were relegated from the SPL. Hearts, who are a point ahead of their visitors, last enjoyed a victory over St Johnstone in January 2002.

1215: TEAMS - Hearts: Balogh, Jason Thomson, Bouzid, Goncalves, Wallace, Black, Michael Stewart, Palazuelos, Obua, Nade, Glen. Subs: Kello, Jonsson, Kingston, Witteveen, Novikovas, Mulrooney, Craig Thomson.

St Johnstone: Smith, MacKay, Rutkiewicz, McCaffrey, Grainger, Davidson, Millar, Morris, Morais, Deuchar, Samuel. Subs: Main, Irvine, Moon, Craig, Johansson, Durnan, May.

1214: First up we have Hearts against St Johnstone at Tynecastle.

1210: Welcome to another afternoon of Scottish Premier League action.
