McDonald celebrates his goal as Brown looks dejected
An error by goalkeeper Mark Brown allowed Aberdeen to claim a Scottish Premier League draw with Kilmarnock.
Steven Old clipped the Dons crossbar and the visitors were also foiled by the woodwork when Michael Paton's shot was deflected onto the bar.
Danny Invincibile's low drive gave Killie the opener on 78 minutes.
But Gary McDonald levelled for Aberdeen with six minutes remaining, the midfielder slamming home from close range after Brown fumbled a shot.
The result maintains Aberdeen's unbeaten league run, which stretches back to the opening day as both sides registered a second successive draw.
Despite difficult conditions, both sides were able to create decent scoring chances, Peter Pawlett heading narrowly wide of Brown's goal early on.
Langfield blocked Garry Hay's fierce drive and Mark Kerr was on hand to clear the rebound.
The Dons keeper then misjudged a long ball into the box, allowing Old to win an aerial challenge and send a header onto the top of the bar and out.
Aberdeen moved to the other end and Charle Mulgrew's inswinging free-kick picked out Paton, whose shot was diverted onto the crossbar by Fraser Wright's last-minute intervention.
As half-time approached, Conor Sammon's angled drive was blocked by the legs of Langfield.
The Aberdeen goalie was required to claw away an awkward Hay free-kick before Sammon missed an excellent chance to give Killie the lead.
David Fernandez raced into the box and centred to the unmarked Irishman seven yards from goal but the forward mis-hit his shot and Langfield blocked before the ball bounced out.
At the other end, Pawlett almost punished a mistake by Old but the midfielder's shot failed to trouble Brown.
Sammon's pursuit of a goal continued to prove fruitless as his curling shot beat Langfield but also cleared the far post.
Allan Russell replaced Fernandez to make his first appearance of the season and made an instant impact by setting up the opening goal.
The former Airdrie forward's pass was driven powerfully under the body of Langfield by Invincibile.
Aberdeen immediately pressed for a leveller and Chris Maguire's shot was well saved by Brown.
Sammon failed to connect properly with Invincibile's cross and Killie were made to pay for that miss as the Dons restored parity.
Brown failed to deal with Mulgrew's free-kick and McDonald was on hand to score his first goal of the season.
Both sides came close to grabbing a winner in the closing stages with Langfield making a crucial block from Russell's attempt and Brown once again foiling Maguire.
Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies: "I think we deserved the three points today. I thought we were the better side, particularly in the second half.
"We made some chances that should have been in the net.
"Conor Sammon should have had a double today. Our goalkeeper's had nothing to do.
"Charlie Mulgrew's got a point for them because he has hit one of these special free-kicks that the goalkeeper finds difficult to deal with.
"We were by far the better side. They will be happier with the point than we were.
"I can't criticise the players. There wasn't a lot in the first half but in the second half there was definitely some great chances for us."
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee: "I didn't think we played particularly well. At the moment it's a point gained.
"We huffed and puffed all afternoon and we never got any consistent pattern of play when we got into advanced areas, when we got wide.
"We didn't find a final pass, or a quality ball, and that was disappointing.
"We did at times get into good areas but we didn't convert any chances.
"I thought Charlie Mulgrew's set pieces were as poor as they have been all season. When we got the free-kick I wasn't hopeful that it was going to end up in the back of the net, so when it did I was grateful.
"I think Jamie Langfield's improving a lot. He has a lot more to come.
"We'll get to the Christmas window and see what we can bring in and then in the summer we expect to make a lot of changes."
