By Thomas McGuigan

1615: So, a pulsating Edinburgh derby brings the curtain down on another dramatic weekend of SPL action.

Hibs midfielder Derek Riordan looks sharper every week and Hearts' enterprising line-up and willingness to attack almost paid dividends with a stirring comeback at Easter Road.

Mixu Paatelainen's side stay a point ahead of their city rivals, while my points haul in the BBC Predictor league is about as impressive as this afternoon's goalkeeping!

Thanks for your company, and here's hoping the entertainment on show today is a sign of things to come for the rest of the season.

See ya!

1605: "My nerves are all over the place. Thank God for full-time. I'll take a point at ER any day." Licence on My Sport Join the debate

My nerves are shredded after watching that, too. But I've got to stay on and watch Andy Murray in the Madrid Masters, and John Higgins in the Grand Prix snooker final.

I thought Sunday was meant to be the day of rest? Not complaining though, a veritable feast of sport for us to tuck into.

Bruno Aguiar (8.63) got your vote as man of the match at Easter Road. You can add your vote on our player rater here

1600: What a game, what a derby. Both teams willing to attack for 90 minutes, goalkeepers treating the ball like a bar of soap and chances by the dozen.

Without doubt the most enjoyable SPL game of the season so far.

1557: "Hearts' goalie is better than the credit I gave him earlier. I think a draw's a fair result. Well done Jambos." Scottish on My Sport Join the debate

1556: FULL-TIME HIBERNIAN 1-1 HEARTS

1553: Nade blazes over the bar from Driver's cross. No-one wants to win the derby! We're into injury-time.

1552: Hearts keeper Balogh saves at Riordan's feet as the Hibs fans howl for a penalty. Nothing doing, says referee Eddie Smith.

1551: What a chance. Driver picks out Aguiar with a lovely ball, but the Portuguese snatches at his shot. He could've won the game there.

1550: Hibs are camped in their own half as the Hearts fans urge their side to find a winner. Three minutes to go.

Join the debate

1547: Fletcher is inches away from getting his and Hibs' second of the game. His flashing shot screams past Balogh's right-hand post.

1544: Lee Wallace and Andrew Driver are getting a lot of joy down Hibs' right-hand side. About eight minutes remaining for someone to produce a bit of magic to win the derby.

1540: Tale of two managers - part two. Suddenly, it's Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen who looks ill-at-ease with events at Easter Road. Laszlo, sitting serenely in the dug-out, pulls his socks up and affords himself a quiet smile.

But it remains all-square.

1539: Just as Hibs look to be teetering on the brink, Derek Riordan almost fires the hosts back into the lead with a rasping drive.

1537: Hearts are pressing for what could prove to be the winning goal. Andrew Driver is proving a real thorn in the Hibs defence's side. Fifteen minutes of a fascinating game to go.

1534: Derek Riordan's free-kick, a carbon copy of Aguiar's equaliser, is comfortably saved by Balogh.

1532: About 20 minutes remaining at Easter Road. Bruno Aguiar (8.57) is the cream of the crop in our player rater. Cast your vote here

1525: Andrew Driver out Forrest Gump's Fletcher with a lung-bursting run and his goal-bound effort is deflected wide.

Drive sped away from the green swarm around him with impressive ease.

BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson: "Once Driver gets up a head-of-steam there's no stopping him."

1522: Steven Fletcher gallops into Hearts territory, Forrest Gump-style, but Riordan can't profit from his lay-off and Hearts repel the attack. Fletcher then sends a thunderous shot into the side netting.

What a game! I wouldn't mind Santa giving me the DVD of this derby for my Christmas. Capital punishment it's certainly not...

1517: Ma-Kalambay has the Hibs fans fumbling for their heart pills again as he comes to clear and the ball cannons back off Nade. There is no chance this game will end 1-1...

1515: Derek Riordan glides past a couple of desperate Hearts challenges on the left wing. He looks a different player to the one who endured a wretched few seasons at Celtic.

1514: Hibs goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay comes for a cross ball and grabs at it like it's a fish leaping from a waterfall.

The Hearts supporters behind his goal clear their throats to chant his name. Very cruel.

1513: "Hearts have now used four goalkeepers in nine SPL matches. That must be a record."
BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell

1511: Hibs defender Sol Bamba takes ball and man with a crunching tackle on Hearts striker Christian Nade.

Steven Fletcher forces a corner three minutes into the second-half. Hibs looking hungry for another goal.

1509: "Bookings for goal celebrations shouldn't happen unless they are OTT and could cause violence. Some of the bookings I've seen given are stupid."Licence on My Sport

1508: The second-half gets under way at Easter Road.

1506: A very interesting Hearts substitution. Goalkeeper Marian Kello is withdrawn after a jittery first-half and Janos Balogh comes on.

1503: Interesting debate on BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme at the moment. Should Bruno Aguiar have been booked for his goal celebrations? He hasn't featured for Hearts for more than a year and has equalised in the Edinburgh derby.

"Surely, the rule could be changed to allow players to get 30 seconds of adulation?"
BBC Radio Scotland pundit Craig Paterson

What say you?

1455: "When are we going to get a decent goalkeeper? There's no way that MaClamity should have been beaten that side of his goal. Far too slow to get down and stop it. Roll on the January sales." Macker100 on My Sport

Have to agree with you there, Macker100. It was a sweetly struck free-kick, but Ma-Kalambay appeared to go down in instalments.

1450: HALF-TIME Referee Eddie Smith brings a superb first-half to a close. Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm would be hard-pushed to provide more joy than what we've seen at Easter Road so far.

Hibs will feel they should have had a penalty, but Hearts have come roaring back after conceding that first-minute goal and probably just about deserve to be on level terms.

I'm off to lie down for 10 minutes in a darkened corner of the office and listen to some whale music.

1448: Hearts goalkeeper Marian Kello decides to raise the entertainment value another notch with a spot of dribbling in the box. Derek Riordan almost nips in like a Dickensian pick-pocket, but Kello clears the danger.

1447: Oh dear. Great chance for Dean Shiels to restore Hibs' lead, but he screws his shot wide from inside the box. The Hearts fans have found their voice after being under the cosh for most of the first half.

1444: GOAL HIBERNIAN 1-1 HEARTS

Aguiar atones for his earlier miss and despatches a 20-yard free-kick beyond Ma-Kalambay's reach. A thoroughly deserved equaliser for Hearts. I've said it already, but what a game!

1441: Bruno Aguiar blazes over the bar when it looked easier to score. Hearts are warming to the task now.

1436: A tale of two managers. Hibs' Mixu Paatelainen is his usual animated self - barking instructions and gesticulating like a wild-eyed composer. His counterpart, Csaba Laszlo, in contrast, is crouching track-side; head-bowed. The Jambos need a goal to raise his flagging spirits.

1435: "Hard to believe but the game still hasn't settled down - it's 100 miles an hour stuff."
BBC Radio Scotland summariser Allan Preston

1434: Most of Hibs' good work is coming down the left-hand side. Hibs striker Colin Nish clatters into keeper Marian Kello.

1432: Hibs goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay holds the ball and wears the expression of a haunted man. A few of the players look battle-weary and we're not even at half-time yet. Stirring stuff!

1431: "I've just seen a re-run of Hibs 'penalty' shout. If that had been outside the box it would have been a free-kick, ergo, it should have been a penalty."
BBC Radio Scotland's Kheredine Idessane, pitchside at Easter Road.

1429: "Hibby here... I think the Jammy tarts will live up to their name. Lots of chances for each team, real goal-scoring opportunities for Hibs and then some jammy, freak goal to share the points. Score draw 2-2" Scottish on My Sport Join the debate

1428: Derek Riordan tumbles in the box under Eggert Jonsson's challenge, but referee Eddie Smith waves away the penalty appeals. That looked a stonewaller to me.

1426: The rain has stopped. It's now sunshine and rainbows.

1425: It's raining at Easter Road, yet the Hearts half is bathed in sunshine. The elements are as crazy as this opening 25 minutes.

1422: Hearts seem to have weather that early ferocious Hibs storm. But Csaba Laszlo is still hopping about like a cat on a hot tin roof after Kingston's miss. I wouldn't like to be in the Ghana international's boots at half-time...

1420: This is one of the most entertaining games I've seen this season. Remember, you can vote for your star man using our player rater here

1418: "I think we're gonna get slaughtered." Licence's bleak assessment of Hearts chances for the rest of the game. Join the debate

1416: Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo was having a fit on the touchline after Kingston's miss. The normally laid-back Hungarian took a wild benny there.

1415: 'You might have expected Hearts to sit in and defend today, but after conceding the early goal they'll have to come out and attack Hibs." BBC Radio Scotland summariser Allan Preston

1414: Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingston blazes over the bar after Christian Nade's shot was blocked by Ma-Kalambay. This game could end 6-6!

1412: "Unbelievable." Licence keeps his assessment of the opening 10 minutes nice and succinct on My Sport

1411: Derek Riordan almost doubles Hibs' lead, but after a magical first touch he fires over the bar from about eight yards.

1410: "Brilliant start to the game. Great tempo." BBC Radio Scotland summariser Allan Preston

1409: Hearts captain Christophe Berra sees his thumping header crash back off the crossbar, with Hibs keeperYves Ma-Kalambay stranded.A pulsating start to the Edinburgh derby.

1407: Hearts midfielder Michael Stewart, clearly shell-shocked by that early Hibs goal, hammers the ball forward but hits referee Eddie Smith.

1405: GOAL Hibernian 1-0 Hearts
Steven Fletcher fires Hibs in front in the opening minute. Derek Riordan's clever back-heel finds Colin Nish, and his low cross is swept home by the Scotland international - his first goal in the Edinburgh derby.

What a start!

1403: It's Michael Stewart's fourth Edinburgh derby for Hearts - he played seven for Hibs. And we're under way at Easter Road.

1401: The teams are on the pitch and a minute's applause is held in memory of the late Dundee United chairman Eddie Thompson.

1358: Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, who grew up a Hibs fan, is in the crowd at Easter Road. The derby will give him a bit of respite from thinking about facing Wayne Rooney and co in the Champions League next week.

1353: Will there be any celebrity fans at Easter Road today? The Proclaimers and Dougray Scott are well-known Hibees, but what about the Jambos? Join the debate

1349: "Riordan, Fletcher and Nish up front? Hearts stand more chance of getting paid on time than they do winning this one. 2-0 Hibs." Hibs2005 on My Sport

1346: "If Mixu is right, and the game 'will be played in the player's heads,' let's hope they make use of all that space they'll have!" Steve Letford, via text, on 80295

I'm hoping for a goal glut at Easter Road.

1342: "I really fancy a big win for Hibs today. Hearts seem a bit off-form." shrek69 on My Sport

1339: "Hopefully, it lives up to its promise with plenty of goals. Got a feeling Hearts will sneak it with a late goal." totalsplforum on My Sport Join the debate

1336: TEAMS

Hibernian: Ma-Kalambay, van Zanten, Bamba, Jones, Stevenson, Shiels, Thicot, Murray, Nish, Fletcher, Riordan. Subs: McNeil, Yantorno, Keenan, Rankin, Chisholm, Pinau, Cropley.

Hearts: Kello, Jonsson, Zaliukas, Berra, Lee Wallace, Aguiar, Stewart, Karipidis, Driver, Kingston, Nade. Subs: Balogh, Palazuelos, Mikoliunas, Makela, Mole, Thomson, Ksanavicius.

What do you make of the line-ups? Give us your thoughts on My Sport

1320: There's nothing like a blood and thunder Edinburgh derby to disturb the calm of a Sunday afternoon. Hibernian entertain Hearts at Easter Road in about 40 minutes time.

Mixu Paatelainen's side are in fourth place in the SPL, a point ahead of their city rivals. But Hearts have won four of the last six derbies.

How do you think today's game will go? Give your thoughts here: My Sport and via text on 80295
