Dillon fired United in front at Tannadice
|
Andy Dorman's 88th minute equaliser gave St Mirren a share of the spoils against Dundee United at Tannadice.
United looked the livelier of the two sides and Noel Hunt had his header disallowed for offside.
Willo Flood also went close with a rasping 25-yard drive before Danny Grainger's volley gave the hosts the lead after 69 minutes.
But Saints hit back and Dorman secured an unlikely draw when he lashed the ball home from 12 yards.
United rested Christian Kalvenes and left Prince Buaben on the bench after the midfielder picked up a hamstring injury - with Flood and Grainger restored to the starting line-up.
Saints made one change following the 1-0 defeat by Celtic, winger Mark Corcoran replacing midfielder Hugh Murray.
Chris Smith had to settle for a place on the bench following his recovery from illness with Mark Howard retaining the goalkeeper's jersey.
St Mirren survived a penalty claim when Noel Hunt tumbled under Dorman's challenge.
