Mowbray pleased with improvement

Mowbray watched his side find their form
Hibernian boss Tony Mowbray delivered his half-time team talk and then saw his players raise their game against Dundee United and net three times.

Mowbray said: "Our passing was sloppy first-half, which isn't like us.

"I think the penny dropped during the break and our quality improved. The first goal gave us a visible lift, a weight off the players' shoulders.

"People talk about performances but we needed to start picking up points and we deserved our win."

Meanwhile, striker Chris Killen believes the Edinburgh side can now welcome the visit of Rangers next weekend.

"A 3-0 win is always going to give us confidence and we are going to have to work hard this week before the Rangers game," he said.

The Easter Road club had not won on their Scottish Premier League travels since a 2-1 victory at Livingston on 5 November last year.

"The manager told us before the game that it could be our first win away from home since November.

"I think it hit home to the players that it was probably about time we put that right," added the New Zealander.

"We didn't get off to the best of starts and our passes were going astray, but we came out at the start of the second half all fired up.

"We were confident that we were going to win the game and it was just a matter of time until we were going to create chances and score goals."
