Livingston 0-1 Inverness CT
Livingston will be playing in the First Division next season
Livingston surrendered their SPL status rather meekly as they were edged out by Inverness in a match low on thrills.

Inverness veteran Barry Wilson curled a free-kick wide in a first-half that failed to involve either goalkeeper.

And it was Wilson who broke the deadlock on 55 minutes when he found his range with a wonderful 20-yard free-kick.

Steven Hislop went close with a header and Noel Whelan flashed a volley wide but relegated Livi could not score.

With Falkirk and Dunfermline both winning, even a victory for the Almondvale side would have been fruitless.

But John Robertson's side looked resigned to life in Division One right from the kick off.

Match-winner Wilson curled a 20-yard free-kick just wide of Roddy McKenzie's left-hand upright after 13 minutes. It was a desperately poor game and Livi were lucky not to be reduced to 10 men five minutes before the interval.

Wes Hoolahan's free-kick from inside in his own half was drilled badly into the centre-circle and Wilson was sent clear on McKenzie's goal.

david McNamee appeared to pull him back as Wilson fell to the ground just outside the box, but referee John Underhill waved play on.

Hislop came close for the home side two minutes after the break when he saw his close-range header flash wide of the near post from Hoolahan's centre.

But any home hopes were extinguished thanks to a piece of brilliance from Wilson.

After Dennis Wyness had been fouled by Emmanuel Dorado 20 yards from goal, Wilson stepped up to curl the free-kick over the wall and into the net past a motionless McKenzie.

Whelan drove a volley wide in the 65th minute as Livi battled for a desperate counter.

Colin Healy then tried his luck from distance before an angled Hoolahan free-kick flew straight into Brown's arms.

Many of the 2,200 crowd had left the stadium when Liam Keogh passed up a sitter in the final minute when he raced clean through but shot wide for Caley.
