Dundee 1-2 Dundee United
Goalscorer Mark Wilson celebrates at Dens Park
Mark Wilson put United 1-0 ahead
Jim McIntyre grabbed the winner as Dundee United ended their three-year winless streak in Tayside derbies.

A mis-hit Mark Wilson free-kick deceived goalkeeper Derek Soutar to give United the lead.

Dundee equalised when Gary Kenneth felled Steve Lovell and the striker slotted home the penalty kick.

But McIntyre fired home from a Jason Scotland cross and Dundee's misery was completed when striker Tam McManus was sent off for violent conduct.

United's victory means they leapfrog Dundee in the relegation battle.

Dundee defender Brent Sancho had been replaced with Fabian Caballero, who slotted into midfield with Barry Smith playing centre-half.

Dundee created the first chance, but Garry Brady scuffed his shot from the edge of the box harmlessly wide.

Mark Wilson was unfortunate not to have given United the lead as his free-kick dipped over Soutar and off the crossbar.

Caballero picked up a knock early in the game and was replaced by John Sutton in the 18th minute.

Dundee had to rely on Bobby Mann to make a last-ditch block to deny Jim McIntyre after Robson's cross beat the entire defence.

Kenneth went down amid claims for a penalty from the corner, but the defender was adjudged to have dived and was booked for his efforts.

Crawford lofted just over after some fine individual skill as United started the second half positively.

They took the lead direct from a poorly-hit Wilson free-kick that Smith failed to clear and the ball slipped past the unsighted Soutar.

Crawford fired into the side netting after sliding to meet a fine Duff cross.

The Scotland striker missed another chance after being put clear following a defensive error.

Lovell was pulled down after holding off Paul Ritchie and being felled by Kenneth.

The English striker drove the equaliser home.

An Iain Anderson drive forced Tony Bullock into a fine save as Dundee almost took the lead.

Crawford paid for those misses by being replaced with Jason Scotland, who quickly provided the cross that was tucked home by McIntyre.

McManus completely lost his cool and chopped down Barry Robson, receiving a straight red card in the closing moments.
