Scottish League Division Three leaders Brechin edged closer to promotion with an emphatic win over the side lying at the foot of the table.

Charlie King, Roddy Grant, Derek Clark, Kevin Fotheringham and Chris Templeman all struck before the break.

The home side opened the scoring in the first minute when winger King latched on to Templeman's flick and hammered the ball home.

They doubled their lead after four minutes when Greg Miller's cross broke kindly for veteran striker Grant to drive the ball into the net.

The home side remained on top and added their third goal after 13 minutes when midfielder Clark scored with a glorious volley from 25 yards.

Queen's Park were shellshocked and Brechin made it 4-0 five minutes later.

King sent over a cross that was sidefooted home by midfielder Fotheringham.

The scoring was completed just before the break when Paul Riley's cross was cheekily backheeled into the net by striker Templeman.
