Cowdenbeath 2-1 Berwick
A late strike from Cowdenbeath's Graeme Brown gave his side a win over
Berwick Rangers and their first points since stepping up to Division Two.
Cowdenbeath took the lead after six minutes when Rangers defender Innes Ritchie knocked the ball past his own goalkeeper under pressure from Brown. But Mark Duthie met Gordon Forrest's cross and swept in the equaliser after 24 minutes. Cowden deserved the win for a strong performance after the interval when they created a number of good chances. But it took until the last minute for the winner to arrive when Brown headed home from close range. Cowdenbeath: Martin, Swift, White, Wilson, Raynes, Lawrence, Moffatt, French, King, Mauchlen, Brown. Subs: Boyle, McBride, McMillan, Wright, Barnes. Berwick: McCulloch, Ritchie, Murie, Neil, McNicoll, Forrest, Bradley, Glancy, Duthie, Whelan, Ronald. Subs: Rae, Crawford, Gray, Farrell, O'Connor. Referee: G Mitchell (Scotland).
