Albion Rovers' promotion hopes were dealt a blow after they succumbed to defeat at the hands of Berwick Rangers.

Craig O'Reilly scored the only goal of the game, heading home Ian Little's cross from the left 20 minutes into the Third Division encounter.

The home side lost striker John Gemmell and midfielder Chris Boyle to injury before the break.

O'Reilly threatened again on the hour mark with a 25-yard strike that was saved by Rovers keeper Thomas Flynn.

Albion: Flynn, Reid, Donnelly, Lumsden, McGowan, Hamilton (Stevenson 67), Innes, Canning, Boyle (Lawless 40), Love, Gemmell (Smith 31).
