Livingston extended their lead at the top of Division Two to nine points thanks to an Iain Russell brace.

Livi's top scorer netted his 10th league goal of the season on 34 minutes when he converted a Kyle Jacobs cross from 12 yards.

Kenny Deuchar and Bobby Barr went close for the dominant hosts before Russell netted his second from the penalty spot with 20 minutes remaining.

Airdrie defender Kieran Stallard had conceded the spot-kick with a handball.
