Raith Rovers 0-2 Stirling Albion

Scottish Football League

Raith spurned the chance to move to the top of the table as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Stirling.

Stirling took the lead through a Christopher Aitken penalty after he was brought down by Stephen Simmons.

Rovers were unlucky not to be on level terms on 55 minutes when Willie Dyer's fantastic 35-yard drive came rattling back off the crossbar.

As the hosts searched for an equaliser, Aitken threaded a through ball to Gordon Smith who fired home.
