Ayr United's Mark Roberts scored a hat-trick of penalties to secure a win over East Fife but was one of two players sent off in an ill-tempered game.

Roberts scored his first after 13 minutes before Rob Sloan replied, also from the penalty spot on 28 minutes.

Kurtis Byrne's close-range finish put the Fifers ahead six minutes later.

Roberts equalised before Robert Linn was sent off after the break then Roberts completed his hat-trick before seeing red for violent conduct.
