BBC ALBA to show play-off final

Both legs of the First Division play-off final between Brechin City and Cowdenbeath are to be broadcast live by BBC ALBA.

The first leg takes place at Cowden's Central Park on Wednesday with a 1945 BST kick-off.

Brechin are the hosts on Sunday with the game starting at 1500 BST.

The Second Division play-off takes place at the same times, with Arbroath hosting Forfar Athletic in their first leg on Wednesday.

Brechin were surprise winners over Airdrie United, who finished second bottom in Division One and are now relegated.

Cowdenbeath - who finished third, five points ahead of Brechin during the league season - defeated second-top Alloa Athletic in their semi-final on Saturday.

The two sides have one win each and had two draws in their four meetings so far this season.

Forfar, who finished second behind Third Division champions Livingston, edged out East Stirlingshire after a late goal in their second leg.

The Loons must now overcome an Arbroath side who easily disposed of Queen's Park 6-2 on aggregate in their semi-final.

Arbroath were consigned to the play-offs after being edged into second-bottom spot in Division Two on goal difference by Stenhousemuir.

The Red Lichties have not faced Forfar since a Challenge Cup tie in July 2008, when they lost 2-1 at home to their Angus neighbours.
